Mysterious things are happening in Range, a small town in the shadow of Mount Rainier. Runoff Graphic Novel is a dramatic thriller which reminds me a little bit of Stephen King’s stories… interesting cast of characters, mysterious circumstances and an unexpected ending. The art work jumps from raw, visceral to sometimes cartoony. This breaks the tension which has it’s positives and negative. But just as you expect things to start making sense, Tom Manning throws a few more curve balls that’ll get you asking more questions. A dark, stylish and even funny (at certain points), Runoff combines werewolves, vampires, mummies and of course government agencies in a 450 page action packed story.
