Do you know where a picture book story really comes together? In a dummy. The best picture books blend words and pictures effortlessly to tell the story. In this workshop, you will learn how to build a picture book dummy. Arree will show his creative process in making dummies and reveal how to ruthlessly revise your dummy until you’ve found your story.

BIO:

Arree Chung is the author/illustrator of the popular Ninja! book series. His newest picture book, Mixed (Henry Holt, 6/3/2018) teaches diversity through a layered narrative that uses color theory as a backdrop. Arree shares his passion for storytelling at schools, conferences and literary festivals all over America. In addition, he teaches the art of storytelling to children and adults through his Storyteller Workshops, as well as picture book making at Pixar University and online at Storyteller Academy. Arree is passionate about fostering diverse and authentic stories. With a love for storytelling, Arree continues to make picture books and is writing a middle grade novel based on his experiences growing up as a Chinese-American
